Adrian Russell Wills began his filmmaking career in 1999 with his award winning short film ANGEL, under the remarkably successful Metro Screen Lester Bostock Scheme.

From there he went on to study Directing at AFTRS (Australian Film Television & Radio School) before directing the critically acclaimed documentary for SBS , OUR BUSH WEDDING in 2005.  Adrian continued exploring the obserevational documentary form, co-writing and directing the hard hitting WHEN THE NATIVES GET RESTLESS  in 2007 and also wrote and directed short films JACKIE JACKIE, which screened at Melbourne International Film Festival, Flickerfest and at Santa Barbara Film Festival and the moving personal short BOURKE BOY.  JACKIE JACKIE, and BOURKE BOY were both developed through the Screen Australian Indigenous Unit for ABC, screening at local and international Film Festivals, BOURKE BOY awarded the Best Indigenous Film at St Kilda Film Festival in 2010.  He also had two projects selected to open the 2010 Message Stick Film Festival, documentary BOXING FOR PALM ISLAND and the short DANIEL’S 21ST.

More recently, Adrian has moved into writing and directing television drama.  Adrian directed two episodes of WONDERLAND in 2014 for FremantleMedia and Network Ten.  He has directed an episode of the Southern Star/Network Ten series RUSH and also wrote an episode of the Blackfella Films produced drama series REDFERN NOW, which screened on the ABC in 2012.  He was one of the directors on the ABC series THE GODS OF WHEAT STREET and returned to write on the second series of REDFERN NOW 2, as well as directing two episodes.  Adrian directed the Pursekey Productions documentary film 88 and Co-Directed the Brindle Films and Princess Pictures series 8MMM ABORIGINAL RADIO.

Adrian directed four episodes on Blackfella Film’s READY FOR THIS as well as two episodes on Fremanatle Media’s WENTWORTH (SEASON 4) ARENA MEDIA and BROWN CAB'S production for ABC TV, THE WARRIORS . Adrian is currently in development with two feature film projects, GINDERELLA and THE BLUE TIN, and has also two television drama series both hoping to find homes on Australian screens soon.
